On Yolanda's first day of sixth grade, her father prepares Chiles Rellenos, a family favourite dish. Anxious, she finds it difficult to eat at school. However, her classmates are curious about her meal and accept Yolanda's offer to try it. Sharing food fosters connection and brings her comfort, while also deepening her appreciation for her Mexican heritage.
