  • Nikki Buziak - Gymnastics

    After a decade in the prairies, Nikki has returned to her home of Comox Valley. She is a proud mama to Sawyer. Her passion for stories and connection has led her to find her true love in directing. This is her first script and looks forward to writing a feature.

  • Bernhard Riedhammer - A long Road Ahead

    Bernhard is an award-winning writer with several years of experience as a screenplay editor. He has won and placed high in dozens of festivals, including PAGE, BlueCat, Scriptapalooza, Austin, Cinequest, and Raindance. Most recently, his short drama Tree o' mine was produced and is currently hitting the festival circuit.

  • Jes Segrue - Goodbye For Now

    Jes is a screenwriter with five feature screenplays ready for production, including Goodbye for Now. Three were finalists in international competitions this year, including Comox, Toronto, and Berlin, and four were semi-finalists. She hopes to direct her first laurel-winning short this year. She is a grateful member of CineVic and WIFTV.

    Heather Lynn Roberts Young is a third-year creative writing student at the University of Victoria who has been published in the Globe and Mail. Her personal experiences, the human condition, and our social landscape inspire her stories, gleaned by experience from living and traveling abroad and raising a family.

  • Jamie Campbell - Sneakerhead

    Jamie Campbell is a screenwriter, actor, and stand-up comedian based out of Kansas City. His short screenplay, Mourning Sickness, was recently produced by V-Pac Productions in the United Kingdom. His feature screenplay, Call Me Thor has received numerous accolades, including being a second round selection for the Sundance Institute's development track and being the inaugural first place International Feature Screenplay at this festival.

  • John Bain - Pirate Queen

    In retirement, John has followed up on lifelong interests in movies, theatre and sports by trying his hand at screenwriting. His screenplays have won first place honours at The All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival, The Rhode Island Film Festival, The One in Ten Screenplay Competition, and The WIFV New England Screenplay Competition. His screenplay "The Exit Plan" was a first place winner at last year's CVIFF. He lives in North Vancouver.
